Serious money is flowing into campaign coffers of several candidates running in an 12-way race for mayor of Colorado Springs in the April 4 city election.
The Housing and Building Association of Colorado Springs has pumped $50,000 in one shot into the campaign of Wayne Williams, an at-large City Council member who’s been endorsed by outgoing Mayor John Suthers, who’s barred by term limits from seeking another term. Williams also picked up the endorsement of The Gazette on Sunday, Feb. 26, an endorsement coveted by conservatives.
The HBA donation comprised nearly half of his $97,850 collected in the last half of February, but he also picked up $5,000 donations from developers Gary Erickson and Gold Hill Neighborhood LLC, MC Operations and Apartment Association of Colorado Springs. (Read the full Story Here.)
